Air Quality Contributes to Diabetes: A New Study Finds a Link

We have yet another reason to demand cleaner air: A national, large-scale, population-based epidemiologic study conducted by researchers at Children’s Hospital Boston, published in Diabetes Care, is among the first to link adult diabetes and air pollution, after adjustment for other risk factors such as obesity and ethnicity. The relationship was observed even at exposure levels below those currently deemed safe by the Environmental Protection Agency.
