Tap Away Food Cravings: Naturally Eliminate Your Desire for Unhealthy Snacks

Delectable morsels are traditionally hard to resist, but psychologists from Griffith University’s School of Medicine, in Australia, show us how we can successfully reduce food cravings by using a technique they refer to as psychological acupuncture. It involves gently tapping on pressure points along the body’s energy meridians using the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), while focusing on particular emotions and thoughts.

“Participants in the trial were surprised by how quickly the technique works—that it doesn’t take a lot of time to eliminate food cravings they may have had for many years,” notes Peta Stapleton, Ph.D. Food cravings for sweets and salty snacks significantly lessened after just four, two-hour sessions, and were confirmed as being maintained at a six-month follow-up consultation.
